Welsh graffiti artist Pure Evil on the new Hong Kong restaurant that is packed full of contemporary art by some of the world’s most exciting talents

There’s this mad place in Hong Kong, which opened this year called Bibo: it’s a restaurant, but feels more like a contemporary art gallery. You walk in and there’s a huge Jean-Michel Basquiat painting; you’re in the toilet and there’s a Damien Hirst picture right above the cubicle. There’s a Daniel Arsham on a bookshelf, a couple of Banksys on the walls – it’s got so much art by amazing artists. People go there to photograph themselves with the art – it’s quite the place to be in Hong Kong at the moment.

Rumour has it the owner used to be a huge Tintin fan and sold some originals to fund this place. He’s going ballistic getting a collection together. This guy from Lisbon called Vhils likes to chisel into walls and has done a portrait with a drill; street artist KAWS has done some work; and I painted a series of artworks on the spines of books.
